Veronica, Isabela, Clare
This beautiful stained glass is one of many housed in the temple-basilica of the Christ of Medinaceli, each depicting a history of devotion to Christ. In procession, Veronica comes first, her hands folded in prayer. Isabel, though royalty, comes after Veronica, perhaps a reflection of her humility. Signifying her difference in status is the crown on her head and the royal purple cloak. The final member of the procession is Clare, once again holding the monstrace vessel that contains the host of the Eucharist.
